DC-STIMULATOR MR*
Programmable Direct and Alternating Current Stimulator
Conducting non-invasive transcranial direct- and alternating current stimulation (tDCS, tACS) specifically during magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)
The DC-STIMULATOR MR meets the highest safety standards thanks to (hardware- and software-based) multistage monitoring of the current path. By continuously monitoring electrode impedance it can detect insufficient contact with the skin and automatically terminate stimulation.
Scientific studies conducted in recent years have shown transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to be a recognized method of therapy for various disorders of the brain.
Alternating current and random noise current stimulation (tACS, tRNS) are currently in the research and validation phases. Transcranial electrical stimulation (tDCS, tACS and tRNS) can also be performed during functional magnetic resonance imaging to localize the exact position of cortical activation.
